Spiced apple-filled tortillas baked golden for a quick, tasty treat with cinnamon sugar.

# What You Need:

→ Apple Filling

01 - 2 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and diced
02 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
03 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
04 - ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
05 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

→ Roll-Ups

06 - 6 medium flour tortillas
07 - 2 tablespoons melted butter

→ Cinnamon Sugar Coating

08 - ¼ cup granulated sugar
09 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

# How To Make It:

01 - Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Melt 1 tablespoon unsalted butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced apples, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender and juices are syrupy. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
03 - Place tortillas on a flat surface. Evenly spoon the cooked apple mixture along one edge of each tortilla.
04 - Roll tortillas tightly around the filling and arrange seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
05 - Brush the tops of the roll-ups with melted butter.
06 - Combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle the mixture generously over the roll-ups.
07 - Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until roll-ups turn golden and crisp.
08 - Allow roll-ups to cool slightly before serving warm. Optionally, serve with vanilla ice cream or caramel sauce.

# Expert Suggestions:

01 -
  • Tastes exactly like apple pie but takes a fraction of the time and effort
  • The tortilla gets wonderfully crisp while staying tender around the warm spiced apples
02 -
  • Let the apple filling cool slightly before spooning onto tortillas or they will get soggy and tear
  • Roll them as tightly as you can because loose roll ups will unroll in the oven
03 -
  • Use room temperature tortillas because cold ones crack when you try to roll them
  • Do not overcook the apples in the skillet since they will continue cooking in the oven
